WHAT IT IS

Waterbar / waterstop is a flexible PVC or rubber sealing strip embedded in concrete construction joints to form a continuous waterproof barrier across the joint plane in Malaysian water-retaining and below-grade structures. Available in 5 m, 10 m, and 20 m coils; widths 150–320 mm; profiles include V-profile, flat-web, and dumbbell sections. PVC V-profile waterbars are the most common type in Malaysia, used in water tanks, basements, retaining walls, and swimming pools. The centre bulb accommodates joint movement while flat wings bond to concrete on each side. Often referenced to ASTM C1479 or BS 8102. Profile must match anticipated joint movement.
