WHAT IT IS

Bituminous (SBS Modified Bitumen) Roofing Waterproof Membrane is a polymer-modified bitumen roll material used for waterproofing flat and low-pitch concrete roof decks in Malaysian construction. SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) and APP (Atactic Polypropylene) formulations are available; torch-applied (heat-bonded) or self-adhesive. Each roll covers 10 m² (1 m wide × 10 m long); standard thickness 3–4 mm; reinforced with polyester or fibreglass fleece carrier. Typically installed in two layers — base sheet and cap sheet — to achieve a pinhole-free waterproofing system. Tested to ASTM D6163 (SBS) or ASTM D6222 (APP) as applicable. Used on commercial buildings, institutions, and multi-storey residential rooftops with concrete decks.
