CEMENT
Cement-Sand Screed is a site-mixed or pre-bagged dry mortar applied over a concrete substrate to create a level, smooth surface for tile-laying, floor finishes, or direct painting in Malaysian construction. Standard mix ratios are 1:3 (cement:sand) for structural or wet-area screeds achieving ≥25 N/mm² compressive strength, or 1:4 for general floor levelling. Minimum bonded screed thickness is 40 mm. Site-mixed in batches or supplied as pre-bagged dry screed at 25–30 kg/bag. UOM: m². Practice follows BS 8204-1 (Screeds) as referenced in JKR specifications, as no dedicated Malaysian Standard applies. Also known as floor screed, mortar mix, 1:3 screed, skim lantai simen, and mortar simen pasir.
