WHAT IT IS

Formwork system rental provides temporary use of table forms, climbing forms, column forms, and shoring systems on a monthly or project-cycle basis. The rental company retains ownership; the client pays a time-and-damage charge. In Malaysia, large-scale formwork rental is supplied by CIDB-registered IBS Formwork System contractors. From 1 July 2025, the rental service component is indicatively subject to 8% Service Tax under Finance Act 2025 amendments. Physical formwork goods may be separately invoiced. Design certification (PE-signed falsework drawing under CIDB CIS 23:2023) remains the client's responsibility under BS 5975:2019.
