TIE RODS & ACCESSORIES
Formwork tie rod with wing nut and cone is a through-wall tensioning assembly that prevents wall and column forms from blowing out under the hydrostatic pressure of wet concrete. The threaded DW-type steel rod passes through opposing formwork panels; plastic cone spacers set the wall thickness and leave a conical void in the hardened concrete face for patching after striking; wing nuts on each face tension the assembly. Diameter options DW15 (15 mm), DW17, DW20; typical breaking load 80–100 kN for DW15. Steel grade S235 or S355 to BS EN 10025. Used in wall, retaining structure, and basement formwork across Malaysia. HS 7308409000 · import duty 15% · SST 5%.
Typical pack size: Thread diameter: 15 mm (DW15), 17 mm (DW17), 20 mm (DW20); lengths: 500–3000 mm cut-to-length; supplied with wing nuts and plastic/steel cone spacers as a set
Cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel bar, grade S235 or S355 (BS EN 10025). Thread DW15 (15 mm nominal) typical for walls up to 3 m height; DW20 for higher walls or higher pour rates. Plastic cone spacer sets concrete cover distance. Wing nut torqued to set wall thickness. Breaking load DW15 typically 80–100 kN.
