WHAT IT IS

Formwork release oil (shutter oil or mould release agent) is applied to the face of formwork panels and steel forms before concreting to create a chemical barrier that prevents concrete bonding to the form surface. This enables clean stripping without damaging the concrete face or the formwork, directly extending plywood reuse life to 10 or more pours. Available in mineral-oil or synthetic-base formulations; applied by brush, roller, or spray at approximately 15–30 m² per litre. Sold in 5 L jerry cans, 20 L pails, and 200 L drums for industrial use. Key product in formwork system management across Malaysian construction sites.
