WHAT IT IS

Bitumen-impregnated fibre expansion joint filler board is a pre-formed compressible strip of compressed cellulose or glass fibre fully saturated with bitumen, inserted between concrete slabs, walls, or structural elements before casting to form a compressible expansion joint. Available in 100 mm × 12 m and 250 mm × 12 m rolls, in widths of 10–25 mm, it accommodates thermal movement, settlement, and vibration without transmitting stress between adjacent concrete elements. Bitumen impregnation provides resistance to water ingress and biological decay in buried and water-exposed conditions common in Malaysian construction.
