METAL ROOFING
Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet is a UV-stabilised translucent thermoplastic panel used for skylights, canopies, carports, and semi-covered walkways in Malaysian construction. Classified under HS 3920611000, import duty 25%, SST 10%. Twin-wall (hollow) panels provide thermal insulation with a U-value of approximately 0.5–0.7 W/m²K; solid panels offer higher impact resistance. Standard sheets measure 2.1 m × 6 m or 1.05 m × 6 m; twin-wall thickness 4–8 mm, solid 3–10 mm. UV-protective coating on one face is mandatory for tropical use, resisting yellowing under prolonged sun exposure. Available in clear, opal (white), bronze, and tinted finishes. Referenced to EN 16153 for multiwall panels. No specific MS standard.
Typical pack size: Standard sheet 2.1 m × 6 m or 1.05 m × 6 m; thickness 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm (twin-wall) or 3–10 mm (solid); UV-coated one face
Polycarbonate resin (PC) sheet, UV stabilised. Twin-wall (hollow): IQ = 0.5–0.7 W/m²K. Solid: high impact resistance. Common brands: Palram, Rodeca, Lexan. For roofing: UV protection coating mandatory. No specific MY MS standard — international practices (EN 16153 for multiwall PC) apply.
