PRODUCT INDEX / DOORS, WINDOWS & GLASS
GLASS
Tempered (toughened) safety glass is thermally processed to surface compressive stress of 90 N/mm2 or higher, making it 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass. When broken it shatters into small granular fragments, reducing laceration risk. Meets MS 1872 / BS EN 12150-1. Malaysian building code requires tempered glass for shower screens, glass doors, low-level glazing, and balustrades. 10 mm is the most common shopfront and frameless glass door thickness. Custom fabricated to order -- cannot be cut or drilled after tempering. Sold per m2. Also called kaca temper or kaca keras. HS 7007.199000, import duty 30%, SST 10%.
Typical pack size: Custom fabricated to order; standard stock sizes 1830 mm × 2440 mm; tempered after cutting — cannot be reworked on site
Heat-strengthened safety glass to MS 1872 (Safety glass for buildings) / BS EN 12150-1. Compressive surface stress ≥90 N/mm². Impact resistance ≥5× that of annealed glass. Fragments safely into small granular pieces. Must be edge-worked and hole-drilled before tempering.
