Polyethylene (PE) Membrane Sheet (Damp Proof / Vapour Barrier)

WHAT IT IS

Polyethylene (PE) membrane sheet is a flexible plastic film used as a damp proof membrane (DPM) or vapour barrier in Malaysian construction, laid beneath concrete slabs and screeds to prevent ground moisture from rising into the structure. Available in thicknesses from 0.125 mm to 0.25 mm (125–250 micron), in rolls including 0.125 mm × 12 ft × 180 ft and 0.25 mm × 4 m × 50 m formats. A minimum thickness of 0.25 mm (250 micron) is recommended for below-slab DPM applications in Malaysia's high-humidity, high-groundwater climate. Black grades are standard for sub-slab use; clear grades suit overlay and wrapping. Also known as DPM, vapour barrier, plastik DPC, and 防潮膜.

GRADE & SPECIFICATION

Low-density or high-density polyethylene film in thicknesses of 0.125–0.25 mm (125–250 micron). Acts as a moisture and vapour barrier beneath concrete slabs, between layers of screed, or on below-grade surfaces. Minimum 0.25 mm (250 micron) recommended for below-slab DPM in Malaysia.
