TIMBER
Merbau (Intsia spp. / Jongkong, Dactylocladus spp.) is a valued Southeast Asian hardwood widely traded in Malaysia, known for its rich reddish-brown to dark brown colour, high natural durability, and interlocked grain that resists splitting. Used for solid timber flooring, outdoor decking, structural framing, and heavy joinery. Various cross-sections available from 1-inch stock to large structural beams; standard lengths to 14 feet. The naturally oily surface requires special adhesives and pre-treatment before applying paint or varnish. Jongkong is sold alongside Merbau under the same HS sub-heading. HS 4407299200 · import duty 0% · SST 5%.
