WHAT IT IS

Finger-jointed Meranti timber is manufactured by bonding short Meranti (Shorea spp.) offcuts end-to-end with interlocking finger-joint profiles, then planing all four faces (S4S). The process reduces timber waste and produces long, consistent lengths at lower cost than solid sawn stock. Planed S4S finish. Common sections 1x2 and 19 mm × 42 mm; standard lengths 2400–3000 mm.
