WHAT IT IS

Low-emissivity (Low-E) double glazed units have a microscopic silver-based magnetron-sputtered coating that reduces heat transfer while allowing visible light to pass, cutting solar heat gain and air-conditioning loads in Malaysian buildings. Emissivity typically 0.10 or lower. Referenced in MS 1525:2019 (energy efficiency for non-residential buildings) and MS 2680:2017 (residential buildings) as a passive energy-efficiency measure.
