GREEN MATERIALS
Low-emissivity (Low-E) double glazed units have a microscopic silver-based magnetron-sputtered coating that reduces heat transfer while allowing visible light to pass, cutting solar heat gain and air-conditioning loads in Malaysian buildings. Emissivity typically 0.10 or lower. Referenced in MS 1525:2019 (energy efficiency for non-residential buildings) and MS 2680:2017 (residential buildings) as a passive energy-efficiency measure. Also referenced in DMS 2753-1:2025 (use of glass in buildings). Available cut-to-size up to 3660 mm x 2440 mm. Sold per m2. Also called kaca low-E or insulated glazing unit. HS 7007.299000, import duty 30%, SST 5%.
Typical pack size: Cut-to-size; standard stock sizes up to 3660 × 2440 mm
Low-E coating (silver-based magnetron sputtered) with emissivity ε ≤ 0.10 typical. Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and U-value per MS 1525:2019 (Energy Efficiency for Non-Residential Buildings) and MS 2680:2017 (Residential Buildings). Referenced in DMS 2753-1:2025 (Use of Glass in Buildings — Code of Practice).
