WHAT IT IS

Concrete set retarder is a chemical admixture used to extend the initial and final setting times of concrete in Malaysian construction. Classified as Type B (retarding) or Type D (water-reducing and retarding) per MS EN 934-2:2012, it extends initial set by at least 90 minutes beyond the control mix at standard dosage. Critical in Malaysia's tropical climate for ready-mix deliveries over long distances, large mass concrete pours, and slip-forming operations where premature stiffening must be avoided.
