Steel stirrups (links) are pre-bent closed rectangular or square loops of mild steel round bar used as shear reinforcement in reinforced concrete beams and columns in Malaysia. Formed from R6 (3.8 mm) or R8 (4.8 mm) wire stock, they resist diagonal tension cracking and maintain spacing of main longitudinal bars during concreting. Standard loop dimensions range from 150×150 mm to 400×400 mm; custom sizes are bent to order by local steel fabricators. Sold individually or in bundles by piece or kilogram.
