EXPANDED METAL & MESH
Expanded metal rib lath (hi-rib mesh) is a ribbed, cold-rolled steel sheet with an expanded diamond mesh pattern used as a plaster key and reinforcing substrate for ceilings, soffits, partition walls, and column casings in Malaysian commercial and industrial buildings. Rib height of 9–12 mm mechanically locks render and plaster, preventing delamination. Standard sheet size is 2 ft × 7 ft (600×2400 mm), supplied in galvanised or galvanised-and-rendered finish. HS 7314500000 · import duty 5% · SST 10%. Known locally as lath besi rusuk, mesh rusuk, or hi-rib mesh. Widely used in Malaysian offices, hotels, and factory buildings for suspended plaster ceiling systems.
Typical pack size: Standard sheet 2 ft (W) × 7 ft (H) or 600 mm × 2400 mm; sold per sheet or in bundles
