PE tarpaulin is a woven polyethylene fabric sheet laminated on both sides to form a lightweight, waterproof, and tear-resistant cover used throughout Malaysian construction. Site applications include covering stockpiled sand, aggregate, and building materials from rain; protecting scaffold platforms; wrapping equipment; and temporary weather shielding during concrete pours. Common sizes range from 3 m × 4 m up to 10 m × 12 m, sold per piece. GSM typically 80–180 g/m²; UV-stabilised grades available. Most commonly blue, with green and silver variants also stocked. Known locally as terpal or kanvas.
